About the School:
The Quinte Ballet School of Canada has focused on the needs and dreams of aspiring young dancers since 1972.
The School was established by Brian Scott, the Founding Artistic Director. With over thirty years of excellence in dance, the Quinte Ballet School of Canada has evolved into a highly respected member of the national and international dance community. The School is a non-profit, charitable organization, operated by a well qualified artistic and administrative staff and a volunteer Board of Directors. The School is proud of its many graduates who have entered the dance profession and now perform in major Canadian and international dance companies.
The Quinte Ballet School of Canada is situated in Belleville, Ontario, a location that provides easy access to the main centres of Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Several U.S. cities are also within one day's travel. Belleville, located on the Bay of Quinte, is a community-minded centre with a population of 46,000. It offers a variety of outdoor activities and entertainment options and is home to many artists and artisans who provide a broad range of cultural pursuits to students.
Performance ToursThe study of Repertoire is an integral part of the School's curriculum. Learning an internationally established Repertoire allows the student to participate in one of the most important educational activities of the School, performance tours held each winter and spring.
Travelling to venues throughout Ontario, the students perform various classical works such as those by Petipa, Bournonville, Ashton and Fokine. Over the years, students of the School have performed classics such as The Nutcracker as well as excerpts from Giselle, Don Quixote, Swan Lake and Paquita, among many others.
Offerings from contemporary choreographers are also featured during the spring performance tour.
